Research on the Impact of Population Aging on the Structural Resilience of the Sports Industry Chain and the Optimization Path

Abstract

With the rapid and continuous expansion of the global aging population, the growing demand for sports among the elderly has compelled the sports industry to carry out a series of innovations, thus further enhancing the resilience of its industrial structure. Consequently, this study focuses on the sports industry and builds a top-down three-structure of "upstream supply, midstream operations, and downstream consumption." Integrating with existing analytical frameworks, it decomposes the structural resilience of the sports industry chain into four dimensions, including resistance, recovery, transformation, and competitiveness. On the macro level, this study conducts a full-cycle evolution analysis of the industry chain from "single risk resistance" to "full industry chain collaboration" and finally to "active industry resistance of the industrial ecosystem. " On the micro level, resilience analyses are conducted separately for each of the three sections of the industrial chain. Ultimately, this study identifies the trends of the structural resilience of the sports industry, including the upstream supply, midstream operations, and downstream consumption during the period of population aging. Therefore, this study further proposing a suggestion for the full-chain collaborative optimization path of "supply-operation-consumption", which consists of "strengthening the supply of upstream basic reserves-steadily developing innovation and transformation capabilities in the midstream-optimizing service supply in the downstream".
