The Evolution Path and Collaboration Strategy of Digital-Intelligent Ecological Logistics in the Era of Industry 5.0 —A Multi-Case Study Based on Alibaba, JD.com, and Pinduoduo

Abstract

Against the background of Industry 5.0 featuring "human-machine collaboration", "sustainable development", and "personalized customization", this paper focuses on the evolution and collaboration of digital-intelligent ecological logistics. Employing literature research and multi-case study methods, with Alibaba, JD.com, and Pinduoduo as research objects, it constructs a "technology-subject-goal" three-dimensional collaboration mechanism framework for digital-intelligent ecological logistics and reveals its evolution path. The study finds that digital-intelligent ecological logistics has gone through three stages: "single-point technology empowerment (2018-2021)", "technology collaborative penetration (2022-2024)", and "ecological symbiosis evolution (2025 and beyond)". By 2024, the industry's IoT warehouse coverage rate reached 78%, and the order fulfillment efficiency in core cities was reduced by 50% compared with the initial stage. Although the three enterprises have formed differentiated collaboration models (Alibaba's "ecological alliance type", JD.com's "self-built technology type", and Pinduoduo's "C2M empowerment type"), all are driven by data as the core. In 2024, the inventory turnover rate was optimized by 25%-40% compared with the industry average, and remarkable achievements were made in green logistics (JD.com reduced carbon emissions by 90,000 tons annually, and Alibaba reduced the cost of recycling boxes by 50%). The research conclusions can provide practical references for the digital-intelligent transformation of the e-commerce and logistics industries, and enrich the theoretical system of digital-intelligent ecological logistics in the background of Industry 5.0.
