The Aesthetic Narrative of Beauty Brands from the Perspective of Business Anthropology
At present, the domestic beauty market has formed a parallel development pattern of two tracks. The local beauty brands represented by Huaxizi and Mao Geping focus on traditional Chinese culture, deeply explore the connotation of Chinese aesthetics, and complete the breakthrough of brand culture empowerment and market.International beauty brands such as Estee Lauder continue to enter the Chinese market deeply, integrating local marketing strategies through festival limited series, traditional Chinese packaging design and traditional Chinese visual symbols it is in line with the aesthetics and preferences of local consumers. Chinese aesthetic narrative has become a common centre strategy for domestic and foreign beauty brands to compete for the Chinese consumer market and establish brand cultural influence. From the perspective of business anthropology as the basis of this study, choose the local benchmark brand Huaxizi and the leading international beauty brand Estee Lauder as a case comparison, and use semiotics, cross-cultural communication and orientalist critical theory to form a four-dimensional analysis framework.Systematic comparison of the differences in Chinese aesthetic narrative carried by these two types of brands. This study proves that local brands rely on local culture to achieve endogenic reproduction, while international beauty brands use superficial cultural symbols to make profits. There are many problems such as oriental aesthetic stereotypes and superficial cultural appropriation. This article analyses the intrinsic tension between local cultural construction and transnational symbol appropriation. In view of the limitations of existing research institutes based on a single case or a single discipline, it provides a theoretical and practical reference basis for the fact that local products have not gone to the world market and international brands to achieve positive cross-cultural integration.

Simulation-Based Design of a Solar–Hydrogen Hybrid Energy System for a Los Angeles High School with Reduced Battery Use
Article thumbnail
Green hydrogen has become an increasingly relevant topic in the clean energy transition. Its energy-dense properties, as well as its minimal carbon footprint, make it a desirable energy storage system. To remain carbon neutral, many projects paired hydrogen storage with solar power and a lithium battery system for a clean hydrogen-powered microgrid. This study investigates whether battery capacity can be reduced while maintaining grid-independent operation for a representative 2,000-student high school in Los Angeles. A simple Excel model consisting of solar panels and those energy storage systems is used to simulate energy flow with 24-hour and 7-day periods. Excel Solver identified a feasible configuration consisting of 4,536 m² of solar panels, 48.21 kg of hydrogen storage, a 75 kW fuel cell, and 683.2 kWh of battery capacity. The Excel Solver did not identify a solution in which a zero-battery system is feasible. However, these results demonstrate the potential for hydrogen storage to reduce battery dependence in school-scale renewable microgrids while highlighting tradeoffs among battery capacity, hydrogen storage, fuel-cell capacity, and excess solar energy.

Why Port Automation Generates Conflict in Some Economies but Stability in Others: A Comparative Institutional Perspective Between China and the US
Over* 80% of global commodity trade relies on seaborne transportation, with container ports serving as pivotal hubs connecting upstream and downstream supply chain segments. Driven by surging maritime shipping demand and the pursuit of operational efficiency, intelligent port automation has evolved into an irreversible global trend. Though both China and the United States have promoted port digital upgrading, they adopt divergent reform paths, confront unique institutional dilemmas, and generate vastly different practical outcomes. This essay conducts a comparative case study focusing on Shanghai Yangshan Port and Los Angeles Port. It contrasts the implementation effects of automated transformation and corresponding labor relations systems in the two economies, and further explores the institutional, cultural and regulatory roots behind their performance gaps. The analysis reveals that the Chinese port operation framework achieves prominent advantages in handling efficiency and supply chain stability, while its hidden drawbacks in worker welfare and employment equity are also discussed to deliver balanced conclusions and targeted policy suggestions.

How Do Automated Ports Balance Productivity and Sustainability? A Comparative EESG Study of Yangshan Port and Busan Port
This essay examines the automation development of China's Yangshan Port by benchmarking South Korea's Busan Port within the broader context of international maritime trade and port modernization. As global trade continues to expand, ports are increasingly required to improve efficiency, capacity, and technological integration in order to remain competitive. With the development of automation, many companies reduce investment in improving environmental protections and operational transparency. Therefore, in order to pursue long-term efficiency, a more comprehensive evaluating framework is needed. This study argues that port competitiveness is no longer determined solely by throughput or physical scale, but increasingly by the balance between Economic, Environmental, Social, and Governance (EESG) factors.Using a comparative EESG framework, this paper analyzes Yangshan Port and Busan Port across four dimensions: economic automation performance, environmental sustainability, social impact, and governance structure. The study highlights that Yangshan Port has a significant advantage in automation level and productive efficiency, while Busan port is more focused on environmental, social and governance factors. The findings suggest that although Yangshan Port demonstrates superior economic efficiency, Busan Port offers a more balanced EESG performance. Ultimately, we discover that there is a significant trade-off between efficiency and managing social and environmental externalities. Yangshan Port should refer to the Busan regulation and pollution solving model to strengthen environmental, social, governance(ESG) aspects.

A Study on the Impact of Technological Efficiency and Financial Sustainability on the Sustainable Development Pathways of Chinese Commercial Banks un der Asymmetric Fintech Shocks
Fintech creates significant asymmetric shocks within the banking sector. These shocks have a deep influence on the sustainable development of commercial banks. This study uses balanced panel data from 42 Chinese commercial banks, covering the period from 2019 to 2024. It builds an analytical framework called "Fintech Asymmetric Shocks—Technological Efficiency—Bank Sustainability." Empirical tests are then carried out. These tests rely on the entropy iight method, the DEA-Malmquist model, and a moderated mediation model. The results show that the impact of fintech asymmetric shocks on sustainable development varies greatly among different types of Chinese commercial banks. Technical efficiency plays a partial mediating role in this process. Patent reserves, listing status, and asset size all have positive moderating effects. Moreover, when patent reserves reach a certain level, the moderating effect becomes noticeably stronger. Looking across different bank types, large state-owned commercial banks benefit positively. Joint-stock commercial banks experience a iak positive effect. In contrast, city commercial banks and rural commercial banks face major constraints. Therefore, this paper proposes different sustainability pathways and suggests category-based regulations tailored to each type of commercial bank.

Synergistic Effects of Green Space Systems on Microclimate Improvement and Air Purification in Urbanization: A Case Study of Shanghai
Shanghai, as a high-density megacity. Faces significant urban heat island effects and air pollution, posing persistent threats to residents' physical and mental health. The intensifying heat stress and deteriorating air quality have become critical constraints on the city's sustainable development and public well-being. Taking Shanghai as a case, this study employs documentary analysis and case study methods to systematically explore the synergistic effects of urban green space systems on microclimate regulation and air purification. The findings reveal that green spaces exert significant cooling and humidifying effects through three-dimensional vegetation structures dominated by tree canopies; plot-scale green spaces achieve an average temperature reduction of 23.9% and a humidity increase of 83% compared with bare land. The planning practice in Pudong New Area demonstrates that optimizing spatial layout, structural parameters (porosity ≤20%, canopy density ≥0.85), and plant configuration can enhance the transition from passive dust retention to active purification. Multi-layered mixed communities, owing to their vertical structure and species diversity, form a positive feedback loop wherein cooling, humidification, dust retention, and ventilation protection reinforce each other; they significantly outperform pure forests in terms of cooling rate, negative oxygen ion gain, and PM2.5 reduction rate. This study provides scientific evidence and practical references for achieving synergistic climate regulation and air purification through green space planning in high-density cities, with actionable design parameters that can inform policy-making and urban ecological restoration efforts.

T he Influence of Brand's Aesthetics of Living Alone Narrative on the Sense of Belonging of Young Chinese Consumers in the Context of the One-Person Economy
The rapid growth of urban single families has promoted the rise of China 's " living alone economy. " Although existing research often interprets this trend as a new consumption opportunity, this study believes that brands play a deeper role in reshaping the cultural significance of living alone. Through the narrative of loneliness aesthetics, the brand transforms loneliness from a symbol of social alienation to an ideal lifestyle linked to self-care, personality expression and emotional satisfaction. This study uses qualitative research methods, combined with case analysis and social media text analysis. Based on 1200 user-generated comments collected from Xiaohongshu and Weibo, this study explores how brands construct emotional value through three narrative dimensions: emotional expression, lifestyle shaping and brand evaluation. Taking Bear Appliance and RIO as examples, the study reveals two different ways of attribution reconstruction: product-based lifestyle construction and emotional-based symbolic consumption. The results show that the brand not only responds to the emotional needs of young consumers, but also participates in redefining the ideal of living alone. However, this process involves a dual logic: while providing emotional compensation and identity, brands may also commercialize loneliness by transforming emotional uneasiness into consumer demand. This study helps to understand the phenomenon of emotional branding and the commercialization of loneliness in contemporary China.

V isual A esthetics of P ackaging, E motional A ttachment and I mpulse C onsumption: A C ase S tudy of C hinese C osmetic B rand F lower K nows
Fueled by the lookism economy fostered by digital media, aesthetic‑oriented self‑reward consumption has become a dominant consumption pattern among Generation Z. In the beauty industry, the aesthetic value of cosmetic packaging has gradually surpassed its fundamental practical functions such as product storage and protection. Packaging has evolved into a core element in shaping brand perception, establishing emotional bonding with consumers, and influencing instantaneous purchase decisions. Taking the domestic beauty brand Flower Knows as the research object, this paper adopts literature analysis and online questionnaire methods to explore the relationships among visual packaging attraction, consumer emotional attachment, and irrational impulse purchasing behavior. The findings indicate that Flower Knows constructs distinctive visual competitiveness through Rococo court‑style and retro fairy‑tale packaging, which precisely matches the aesthetic preferences and emotional compensation needs of young female consumers. Combined with the community communication effect of short‑video platforms, collection‑oriented and social check‑in consumption frequently emerge. Nevertheless, the brand shows imbalanced resource allocation. It heavily invests in exterior packaging design and IP creation while neglecting core product performance, including powder texture, color rendering and durability. The significant gap between high aesthetic expectations and unsatisfactory practical experience weakens consumer loyalty and restricts long‑term brand development. Based on empirical data, this paper summarizes the internal logic of appearance‑driven consumption. It offers practical strategies for domestic cosmetic brands to balance visual marketing and product research, and provides theoretical references for guiding young consumers to establish rational consumption attitudes.

Delayed-Information Accounting Pressure and Geometry as a State Organizer in Cross-Sectional Return Ranking
Article thumbnail
This paper reconstructs tradable accounting signals from raw quarterly statements under a conservative delayed-information protocol. Using 23,343 accounting-statement files and 6,871 daily-price files, it rebuilds six core accounting variables, converts cumulative flows into single-quarter quantities, and maps each report to the first trading day after a 60-day delay. On the resulting sample of 23,458 firm-quarter observations for 1,712 firms across 40 rolling test windows, the paper studies whether future cross-sectional return ranking is better described by a smooth linear backbone or by a peer-relative inactive-band mechanism that gates local laws. OLS and Ridge deliver mean quarterly Spearman information coefficients around 0.022. A geometry-gated local-law specification reaches 0.025, but the lift over Ridge is not statistically decisive. Relative to alternative state constructors, geometry yields the highest observed coefficient-path compression of the effective accounting law, but its edge over quantile gating is small and likewise not statistically decisive. The contribution is therefore bounded: in this delayed-information setting, geometry is most useful as a sparse and interpretable organizer of state-dependent coefficient drift, not as a universally stronger predictor.

The Influence of Leadership and Strategy Making on Innovation and Digital Transformation Success
Digital transformation has become a priority strategy for organisations that seek to remain competitive in an increasingly digital-dominant business environment. However, despite many organisations investing massively in a number of technologies, the results of the transformation vary. This article examines much leadership and the leadership of the strategy of decision influence the results of the numeric transformation, and we use a comparative analysis of Microsoft and Kodak. In response to the literature related to numerical transformation, to the organisational culture, to innovation, to the allocation of resources and the guidance of the top direction, this analysis examines the contrasting experiences of the two enterprises. Under Satya Nadella, Microsoft successfully transformed its business through a clear strategic approach. In other words, Kodak has not adapted to the digital revolution, but it is developing three of the technologies of digital photography; this is mainly about a conservative direction. In comparison, the success of digital transformation depends not only on technical ability but also on leadership, organisational culture, and strategic decision-making. The results of the study provide insights from both theoretical and practical aspects, focusing on the organisational factors that contribute to the success of several transformations, and providing guidance for managers who implement several transformation strategies.
